Rita L. Sealey, 57, of Norwalk, died Thursday, May 31, 2012 at her residence.
She was born Sept. 14, 1954, in Tiffin to Walter and Carol (Altman) Sealey. She came to Norwalk form Bloomville eight years ago. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Savannah. Rita graduated from Seneca East High school in 1972. She had been employed at Hedstrom, Ashland, where she had been a Union Steward, Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Ashland, Whirlpool, Clyde, and at Flat Rock Care Center, Flat Rock. She was a member of the Ohio Association of Child Care Workers, and also enjoyed working with and caring for the elderly. Rita enjoyed fishing, traveling, cats, gardening, board games, playing the accordion and singing.
She is survived by two sons, John Carl (Sarah) Fortune of Paulding and Seth Andrew Fortune of Ashland, her brother, Eldon (Marlene) Sealey of Republic; two sisters, Iris (Curtis) Vandevander of Bloomville and Myra Jo(James) Armstrong of Green Springs; three granddaughters; three nieces, three nephews, six great nephews, seven great nieces and lifelong friends, Cheryl Mesnard and Eva Noftz, both of Norwalk, Carol Bevier of Mansfield, and Pam Fortune of Polk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Loretta F. Sealey.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2012 at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, with visitation one hour prior, at Bethel Baptist Church, 575 St. Rt. 250 N., Savannah, Ohio 44874. Pastor John Bouquet will officiate. Burial will be in Farewell Retreat Cemetery, Republic, Ohio
